can i use more than one function?

can i use more than one function to complete this task? this seems to work in workspaces, but does not produce a correct answer to this task:

def string_factory(values): for d in values: append_to_results(**d) print(results)

def append_to_results(name = None, food = None): if name and food: results.append(template.format(name, food))

results = []
string_factory(values)

string_factory.py 
# Example:
# values = [{"name": "Michelangelo", "food": "PIZZA"}, {"name": "Garfield", "food": "lasagna"}]
# string_factory(values)
# ["Hi, I'm Michelangelo and I love to eat PIZZA!", "Hi, I'm Garfield and I love to eat lasagna!"]

template = "Hi, I'm {name} and I love to eat {food}!"

def string_factory(values):
    for d in values:
        append_to_results(**d)
    print(results)

def append_to_results(name = None, food = None):
    if name and food:
        results.append(template.format(name, food))

Hey Ashton! Yes you can use multiple functions, but your gonna have to call the function yourself, seeing as treehouse will only call the string_factory function. I recommend just doing it with one function tho. Hope this helps!
