can someone please explain what onboarding means in this segment?

I need better clarification on what Onboarding means in this segment of Getting our steps in order.

As explained by the instructor in that video, it means "the process of creating an account and setting up the app for first-time users."

It's basically just a fancy term for what happens when you join or sign up for something.

You'll also hear this referred to as New User Experiences, or NUX.

Think of it as the first thing a user sees when they head into a product. You can see a collection of different onboarding flows at UserOnboard.
