Can you get the domain and hosting directly from wordpress.com?

I see in the video the hosting and domain are pruchased from webhostingforstudents.com. But can you do this directly from the wordpress site?

webhosting for students is the one pushed on TreeHouse students because it is an affiliate and easy to use because of an option that combos Domain Name + Server together. There are tons of hosting options out there. WordPress, as far as I know, does not offer custom Server/Domain names.

Concerning WordPress development, you usually want to set up a local environment, test everything on there, then purchase a web server/domain name, and transfer your files from local to the live server.

Hey Daryl, no problem. You will find that in this field people are very helpful as long as you put in the work yourself :)

It seems like the .com is a quick way to get your WordPress site up and running and it automates the WordPress installation on the server which it hosts/you buy from them. It's quite expensive for things you can just do yourself with a bit of practice.

the .org seems to be the one I have been using in the past , which consists of development documentation.
