Can you write html text in html?

For example what if someone wanted to write some text that contained "<h1>" maybe for explaining how to program in HTML

Replace the < character with &lt; Replace the > character with &gt;

You should escape HTML codes by using HTML Entities. for example in your case it should be like this:

&lt;h1&gt;
