Cannot select all / Ctrl+A on my Adobe Illustrator.

Has anyone had a same problem with me about their Adobe Illustrator? I cannot select all / Ctrl+A on my Adobe Illustrator. I tried also double clicking on the word/s but It won't select or highlight the word. Is their a fix for this on the Preferences, I can't somehow see it in their also.

Thank you in advance. Hope you could help.

Try to see if the layer where the word is, is locked. Go to Window > Layers Panel and see if there is a lock on any layer.
