HTML How to Make a Website Creating HTML Content Add Social Media Links

Can't drag items to footer

I am in the "how to make a web site lesson and can not drag items from the file to the worksheet. When I drag and drop I get a teal blue band with astricts, diamonds and other symbols rather than the correct coding. The rest of the coding on the worksheet disappears. It won't let me progress further until I figure out how to fix this. I downloaded the file as a zip and then opened it. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks!

I'm not aware of any circumstance where you should drag and drop a file to the workspace. And according to what is appearing on your screen you're attempting to covert to text a picture. This challenge should just want you to type in some code.
