Can't pass code challenge - classmethod

Not sure what is wrong with the code.. I think its producing the right output..

any suggestions on where I am going wrong?

class Letter:
    def __init__(self, pattern=None):
        self.pattern = pattern

    def __iter__(self):
        yield from self.pattern

    def __str__(self):
        output = []
        for blip in self:
            if blip == '.':
        return '-'.join(output)

    def from_string(cls, input):
        for item in input.split('-'):
          if item == 'dash':
          elif item == 'dot':
        return cls(output)

class S(Letter):
    def __init__(self):
         pattern = ['.', '.', '.']

For item == 'dash' you are appending a hyphen instead of an underscore.
