Can't seem to wrap my head around different types of users

Hi there,

Can anyone just help me wrap my head around what exactly are the different types of users? I know that owner is well... The owner/creator of that file. Group and other I am a bit iffy with.

Could someone clarify what these are and use a read world scenario?

1) Operating sys user or 2) directory and file users (user, group, other)?

1) Is a computer user (sudo adduser - command) 2) File permission for - user(the creator of directory or file), group, other (group & other = other users).
