Captions on Treehouse

Can anyone from Treehouse explain how captions on Treehouse works? Does that some dedicated man works, typing all text or it's a recognition software like YouTube have.

Thanks in advance!

Captions can be added to a video as a sort of "text" track. So some poor soul will have to look through the video, write out a transcript, and then put this text in a special kind of a file called VTT, which is how HTML5 recognises that it needs to display captions.

Nick Pettit's course on HTML Video will be able to tell you more. :)

I think that's not translated automatically because is all perfectly correct. On YouTube when something is automatically translated there a bunch of errors. So, pour soul, if you are reading this, you should know that I am very thankful for translating videos :) You deserve a good salery! :)

I listened to the video. I just asked if there is a poor soul or it's automatically translated on Treehouse :)

It's a poor soul I'm afraid. Someone does need to watch and take notes from the video, even if it's only just to figure out when captions appear on the video :)
