Changes can be saved in Shell?

hi, in this video things are saved even I'm doing this with shell. I've learned that I cannot save anychanges when using python shell. how can I use things that I've wrote before exit()?

Look to see if there is ~/.python_history file. Interactive history is supposed to be saved there.
