WordPress How to Make a Website with WordPress Customizing WordPress Themes Customizing WordPress Theme Files

Child Theme not displaying properly

Hi all!

I followed the instructions in the video, and uploaded the project files documents to the twenty-thirteeen child theme folder I created in my FTP.

However, while the header looks the same as the twenty thirteen theme on my site--the rest is all text. My website is CheapIrelandHotels.com.

Can someone let me know what's wrong? I can't move on to the next lesson because it's editing CSS elements which aren't displaying on my website.

I appreciate any advice.

Thanks, Bekah

Hi!

The child theme should look exactly like the parent theme unless you have modified specific files. Were there certain changes you should be seeing currently in the child theme at that URL?

Hi Zac-

I didn't modify any of the project files--and only included them in the child theme folder on the server (I didn't add any other files). I noticed that the theme twenty thirteen has an update available...do you think that's the problem?

The URL I provided is my website --so you can see what it looks like when I activate the child theme (no spam, I promise). The header of twenty thirteen shows up--but the rest is just text.

Please let me know what I can do to make it work. I can't move on to the next lesson until this is resolved :-.

Thanks, Rebekah

Nevermind. It must have been a browser problem. It's displaying normally now. Sorry for all the back and forth!
