Clarification question: Is layout.pug the beginning point for all Express apps?

This is for anyone out there who knows the answer:

Question: I think I know the answer to this but just want to verify. layout.pug is declared by express generator as the top of the chain for defining the structure of an app, correct? In other words Express is going to go to layout.pug first and all other pug files are going to either be extensions of layout or includes in layout or its extensions. The point of my question is this, I can rely on layout being the starting point, right?

layout.pug is the "main" page, yes.

Henrik:

Thanks. That's what I thought, but I get to second-guessing myself sometimes.
