click taking me to index.php not single-work.php

Zac Gordon I am following along and have set up the custom post type of work. Everything is working fine except when I click on the permalink on the custom post type => work permalink I am being taken to the index.php file not the single-work.php file.

I have taken the page.php loop and pasted it into the single-work.php file and still getting sent to the index.php page.

Any ideas what I am doing here?

You should be using the_permalink() inside your query loop. Can you post the code for the page where you should have a link to sing-work.php?
