COLLATION SETTINGS FOR NEW DATABASE

What should the collation settings be for a newly created WordPress database (phpMyAdmin panel)?

I think it's ok to use utf8 but starting from WordPress 4.2 they recommend utf8mb4: https://make.wordpress.org/core/2015/04/02/the-utf8mb4-upgrade/. I tend to use utf8mb4_unicode_ci as the collation in Sequel Pro for WordPress projects.
