connot ready property '1'

I am unsure of what I am doing wrong In this question. If anyone could please help me out , I would really appreciate it

const firstName = "James"
const lastName = "Voss"
const role = "developer"
const msg =  firstName + ' ' + lastName + ': ' ' '+ role " ';

The msg part should be like this.

const msg = firstName + ' ' + lastName + ': ' + role.toUpperCase();

Not sure what the exact question you are answering, but I did notice that you have a double quote mark " followed by a single quote mark ' at the end of the declaration of msg
