Console Failed to Update Dependencies

After selecting [0] swiftmailer/swiftmailer and pressing enter for the latest version I am prompted with "Using version ^5.4 for swiftmailer/swiftmailer" and "Search for a package:". Swiftmailer is not listed in the vendor folder and the update dependencies does not run. How do I correct this to use swiftmailer?
