constant variable

It keeps saying there is something wrong with my constant variable (MAX_BARS) and I have no idea what I could have done wrong.

GoKart.java
class GoKart {

  public final int MAX_BARS = 8;

  private String color;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    this.color = color;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return color;
  }

}

Hi Matthew,

To have MAX_BARS accessible from the class level, you need to also use the keyword "static." Hope this helps.
