Couldn't able to connect my hosting server (GoDaddy) via sftp connection to "Cyberduck" or "Transmit" in my Macbook?

Hi Guys,

I build a website for my father's company, and I tried to connect the directory of the hosting server (GoDaddy) via SFTP Connection as Nick Pettit Mentioned in the Course, I created a user and generated a public and private key as well for the account and "Enabled" Authorisation as well. But when I try to connect it in "Cyberduck" and "Transmit" in My Macbook it says "Login Failed" but when I tried an FTP account in CyberDuck and Transmit from the same hosting. It worked!!! But not the SFTP though :(

Please help out guys.......... Joy Kesten Pasan Premaratne Treasure Porth Or Anyone..........

Hi Jay,

Every hosting provider is going to be a little bit different. I've never hosted with GoDaddy before, so I'm not sure what their FTP configuration is like. The good news is that most major hosting providers will have helpful documentation, and it looks like GoDaddy Help and Support is what you're looking for - specifically, this article looks like it will help the most.

GoDaddy even got a Cyberduck configuration file, which I did try, but still the results are same. Anyways thanks... I'll check out the documentation

Thanks Nick

And I don't have the problem linking my FTP account. It's the SFTP one which is not connecting through. btw can i host my website in Amazon web service ? do you have any guide for that

Hi Jay,

I spent a very frustrating hour yesterday trying to set up Cyberduck and connect to my website via SFTP. I tried a lot of the answers that I found on the net, but the answer for me was in logging in to my web host control panel and ENABLING SSH. (I think that's what it was called?)

I guess it means that this is a security feature - a secure port to your files - that is not always enabled by default. and that you need to either turn it on in your web hosting control panel, or make an inquiry to your web host support.
