Couldn't understand

function array_category($catalog,$category){

$output = array();

foreach ($catalog as $id => $item) { if(strtolower($category)==strtolower($item["category"])){ $output[]=$id;

}

} return $output; }

ı couldnt understand things which are inside of functiong array_category() can anyone explain to me please ?.
