A descendent selector targeting all span elements inside header elements is written with the parent element first followed by the child element. For example,

header div {
    background-color: tomato;
}

This will target all div elements that are nested inside of header elements.

If you're having issues with the descendant selectors the best option [for you] may be adding a class to the target element then styling that specific class.
