Create a navigation element with an unordered list element after the link inside the header. Don’t add any list items or

I am pretty sure I'm doing it right !

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
      <nav>
        <ul></ul>

      </nav>
      <a href="index.html">
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>
    </header>
    <section></section>
    <footer>
      <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
    </footer>
  </body>
</html>

Your anchor element should be where the navigation element is in your markup. Pretty much switch the placement for those two elements.

You have to add the navigation element after the link element. After this:

      <a href="index.html">
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>

Like so:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
      <a href="index.html">
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>
      <nav>
        <ul>
        </ul>
      </nav>
    </header>
    <section></section>
    <footer>
      <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
    </footer>
  </body>
</html>
