public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
  return barCount == 0;
}

i.e. Remove everything after the barCount==0;.

Edit: You have too many closing braces, and it seems like you're nesting the isBatteryEmpty method inside the charge method. You also have an extra 2 on line 5 that shouldn't be there.

that did not work

Did you remove the unnecessary closing braces and the extra 2 that shouldn't be there? Here's what your code should look like:

class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private String color;
  private int barCount;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    this.color = color;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return color;
  }

  public void charge() {
    barCount = MAX_BARS;
  }

  public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
    return barCount == 0;
  }
}

If that still doesn't work, you may have to contact support because it worked for me (just tested it).

yes it worked thank you but why do you add the second brace at the end

Because otherwise the class GoKart wouldn't have the closing brace.
