Create another variable named profit. It should hold the value of the salesTotal variable minus the wholesalePrice multi

I spelled it as it had requested and the challenge says to go back to first part of challenge which past. I checked for grammatical errors in the variable names however I believe they are correct. Any help would be appreciated thank you

script.js
var wholesalePrice = 5.45;
var retailPrice = 9.99;
var quantity = 47;
var salesTotal= retailPrice*quantity;

Check your spelling.

var profit=salesTotal-wholesalePrice*quanity;

Hint: it starts with a "Q".

Hey there,

You are close to the answer. Try to add parenthesis just like that:

var wholesalePrice = 5.45;
var retailPrice = 9.99;
var quantity = 47;
var salesTotal = retailPrice * quantity;
var profit = salesTotal - (wholesalePrice * quantity);

Changed to an answer. Also, parentheses don't technically matter (order of operations built in), but it's a nice way to visualize what's going on.

clemhlrdt Your answer worked like a charm. I was reading it. I just put the parenthesis in the wrong spot.
