HTML HTML Basics Getting Started with HTML Lists and Links Challenge

Creating Links

Trying to create a link for each list item. I'm not unsure were to place my anchor elements

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <title>Lists and Links</title>
  </head>
  <body>
 <ul>
   <li a href="cakes.html"> Cakes</li> </a>
   <li a href="pies.html">Pies</li> </a>
   <li a href="candy.htm"> Candy</li> </a>
    </ul>
  </body>
</html>

Hey Briona,

You're going to want to nest your <a> tags inside your <li> tags with their closing tags corresponding to that. So it would look like this :

   <li>
      <a href="cakes.html"> Cakes</a>
   </li>
   <li>
       <a href="pies.html">Pies</a>
   </li>
   <li>
       <a href="candy.htm"> Candy</a>
   </li>

I added line breaks and indentations as well to make it easier to read and see the tags starting and closing, but its the same as if you had it all on the same line.

Hope this helps,

Dylan
