Your code has several problems. You should probably watch the videos again.

function max(large=2, small=3){ // inside parentheses, you are supposed to write parameter names, like a and b
  if large > max { //you should check the syntax for if statement

  }
  return max(large=2, small=3); // the idea of 'return' in this case is to return one of the parameters, you are not supposed to call the funtion itself inside the function
}
