Critique my work!

Hello,

My name is Thomas, and as all of you here my dream is to become a web developer and work for my self, not anybody!

So here is my first project that was made in wordpress, yet I think something is missing, I would like to hear your opinion ... and be honest! If it looks bad, just tell me; maybe I wont get upset :)

So here it is:

http://myshelterandi.com

it is a fashion blog.

What you all think?!

Thanks!

Your page weighs in at over 22MB I'm sure glad I didn't try to look at it on a phone via a cellular network. Your page took over 13 seconds to load the whole page, most users will abandon a site if it takes more than 2 seconds to load.

According to Google Page Speed if you used properly sized images instead of using HTML to size the images, it would reduce the overall size of downloaded images by 74%.

Also I'd suggest you use lazy loading (using a JQuery plugin) for your images to speed up the initial loading even more.

The photos are a bit scrunched up in some places, but all in all, it is a very nice looking site. (Great idea! :-)

I think your site would work better if you created some sort of excerpt like maybe if you have an image with every post but not a lot of text that you have 1 thumbnail of 1 image per article on your home page and people could go in and see the specific article if they want to see more of that design. I know that I got very close to wanting to give up on your site when I was scrolling for a while and just saw a lot of pictures of that 1 orange shirt over and over again.
