CS0029 Cannot implicitly convert type 'void' to 'System.Web.Mvc.ActionResult'

when I tried to extract the ValidateEntry method, Visual Studio didn't just make it into a public void, but rather a "private static global::System.Void NewMethod(Entry entry)"

what's up with that? a bunch of errors showed up after that and when I change it into a public void, it doesn't help with anything...

You'll need to share your code to make it possible for folks to replicate the issue. Perhaps a githup repo?
