you made a spelling error at

<!-- spelling at "<link ref" -->

  <link ref="stylesheet" href="css/normalize.css">
  <link ref="stylesheet" href="css/main.css">

<!-- should be "<link rel" -->

  <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/normalize.css">
  <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/main.css">

use "rel" instead of "ref"

Your welcome and thanks for the points. I tried to type ref an google it. an maybe you mistake the typing for "href"

"href" and "rel" can be mistaken when you type fast href is use for links and "rel" is used for "relationship"

wc3 school:

The required rel attribute specifies the relationship between the current document and the linked document/resource.

ok good to know thanks!!
