ctrl options do not work [SOLVED]

None of the ctrl keys work, they default to the actions on my computer rather than the action in nano

EDIT:Just figured it out,

ctrl+cmd+alt+KEY

EDIT2: The quiz answer still remains ctrl+KEY...I am sure it is just me, so perhaps add this alternate answer as some computers/users cannot use just ctrl+KEY

Thank you, confirming that ctrl+key does not work for me, however ctrl+cmd+alt+key does.
