PHP PHP User Authentication Building the Library Deleting Books

deleteBook function

Add a "deleteBook" function that accepts a single parameter for the book id. The function should use PDO prepared statements, using the global $db object to update the database. Remove the book from the 'books' table where the field 'id' corresponds with the passed id.

index.php
<?php
require __DIR__ . '/inc/bootstrap.php';

//add function here

You can try this:

function deleteBook($id) {
    global $db;
    try {
        $query = "DELETE FROM books WHERE id=:id";
        $stmt = $db->prepare($query);
        $stmt->bindParam(':id', $id);
        return $stmt->execute();
    } catch (\Exception $e) {
        throw $e;
    }
}
