Did this course replace Randy's course in the php track?

Am I imagining things or has this course suddenly replaced Randy Hoyt's "Using PHP with MySQL" course in the php development track? If so, why?

Hey Jack,

The simple answer is yes :)

They did an update a week or two ago and replaced the MySQL course with PDO. I haven't reached this area yet but there was a bit of a discussion of people saying that the SQL course was outdated and not as relevant for a beginner so they changed it to the PDO(which I think is more bare-bones and foundation based). You can still watch the SQL course in the libary if that's what's tickling your fancy :)

Hope that helps!

Connor

OK thanks! I thought I was going mad when I logged in to carry on with Randy's course and was confronted by a different man with a different beard! I think I'll work through both courses just to drill it in.

Haha! I can see why that would be confusing xD
