The function accepts a list of dictionaries. Using ** as a parameter in the definition doesn't serve a purpose as far as I can tell. Someone just show me the answer. I solved this without using ** and I don't see why I would.

231,269 PointsThere's usually more than one ways to program something. And in this case, you certainly can solve it without using the scatter operator, but the challenge is intended to give you practice in using it.
It's also quite possible that a solution that does use it might be more concise and/or efficient.
