Difference between efficient and effective algorithm

What is the Difference between efficient and effective algorithm?

1 Answer

An algorithm is correct only if it solves a problem, and it is to my understanding that an algorithm's effectiveness is measured by how accurate it is in producing a result without error, whereas an algorithm's efficiency is measured in terms of how optimal the algorithm is in using resources; the two most common resources being time and space complexity (mainly RAM).
