difference between q tags and block quotes?

whats the difference between q tags and block quotes? can you use either one to achieve the same goal?

The <q> tag is an inline quote. The content is typically rendered with fancy quote marks around it.

But <blockquote> content is typically rendered in its own paragraph, and indented.

Give them both a try and see for yourself!

The way that I learned it is like this: <blockquote> is like <div> (block content) <q> is like <span> (inline) Hope that helps a little
