Hi,... on 8:30min of this videos that step has been deprecated... any suggestions on how to get that fixed?

According to the apple docs you should use the obscuresBackgroundDuringPresentation property instead.

As of iOS 12.0, the dimsBackgroundDuringPresentation has been deprecated. See Apple docs

It has since been replaced with obscuresBackgroundDuringPresentation

That said you code should look like this:

searchController.obscuresBackgroundDuringPresentation = false
