Whats wrong with my code?

disemvowel.py 
def disemvowel(word):
    for l in word:
        if l.lower()=='a' or l.lower()=='e' or l.lower()=='i' or l.lower()=='o' or l.lower()=='u':
            word=str(list(word).remove(l))
    return word

Using your approach of looping thought the letters, you need to create a new string to return and add the letters that are not vowels. The vowel test can also be simplified.

def disemvowel(word):
    new_word = ""
    for letter in word:
        if letter.lower() not in 'aeiou':
            new_word += letter
    return new_word
