CSS CSS Foundations The Box Model The CSS Box Model Concept

div is automatically centered?

shouldn't the div be aligned left on default? There's nothing in the css that declares align center. Can anyone help clarify?

The div is centered because the body has equal padding on both left and right. If the body had no padding, the div would still be centered, but it would span the width of the body (its parent element) because it has the default display: block.
