Do I get a degree after completion, or what?

you don't get any completion certificates for doing any of the courses on Treehouse. Even if you did, companies and employers would not really care that you could follow along with some videos and got a completion certificate for it. I'm not saying the courses you do don't matter, Im just saying that simply doing the courses does not really carry much value in and of itself (in my opinion). You need to prove you know how to use the skills you learned in the courses.

What you need to do is use the knowledge you've gained from treehouse to create a portfolio of designs/sites/apps/etc and use that to showcase your skills. That way if you wanted to include a link to your treehouse profile or something you could say "here are the courses ive done, and here is what I learned how to do in these courses" shows interviewer awesome portfolio of cool looking stuff

Riley was a student at Treehouse before he got his job in the industry so I think you will find it a very interesting read to understand more about your question. The main thing is, companies may look for a degree, but if you can interview well and show them your own work or portfolio of sites that you have designed, that may impress them enough to give you a job.

In my opinion it is a lot better to be highly skilled without a degree and have an awesome portfolio VS having a degree/certificate with a mediocre portfolio.

I was about to ask the very same question. I would love to know if we get a certificate, or something to show we completed these courses.
