do I need to go through the webhosting for students site like the video to be able to use plugins? Thanks Suzane

Hi, I have just watched the video about setting up a wordpress site, I have one already but when I set it up I didnt go through the webhosting for students stage that is shown in the video. On your demo an option for plugins appears in your menu on the left side, this isn't on mine, I just wondered if you know if I need to sign up to the webhosting for students site to be able to use these? Thanks Suzanne

If it's not an admin access issue as Zac mentioned above, then check the website address of your site. If your existing site is on wordpress.com then you will not be able to install plugins.

You need to have a hosting account on the websites for students or other hosting service like Bluehost, WP Engine, Site5 or a different one which will allow you to self-host WordPress, which you download from WordPress.org or via 1-click install.

Hi,

It may be possible that you do not have admin level access to your site. Try requesting admin access from whoever setup the site for you.
