CSS CSS Basics (2014) Enhancing the Design With CSS Adjusting the Layout with Media Queries

Do i still need to add the media queries even after i added the meta tag?

And how can i know which pixel amounts to set for different devices when using max width in the media queries

The meta tag just tells the device to maximize the window, but the media queries allow the code to respond to different device sizes.
