Do we not need the send() function to send the mail after we create?

I had a problem, when I submited the form it didn't redirect to / so i moved the project to my server and added this $result = $mailer->send($message); after creating the message. it sends the email to me but just loads blank page upon submitting form. so the create and send code looks like this

// Create a message $message = \Swift_Message::newInstance(); $message->setSubject('Email From Our Website'); $message->setFrom(array( $cleanEmail => $cleanName )); $message->setTo(array('mail@me.com' => 'Steve B')); $message->setBody($cleanMsg); // Send the message $result = $mailer->send($message);
