Does Docker impact on how Maven projects are created in terms of dependencies required to develop Maven apps?

Maven and Gradle projects require a lot of dependencies injections. I would like to know whether Docker would make it possible to get rid of some of the dependencies. Or does it apply more to the deploy phase in dealing with factors outside the application itself?
