Editing the code delete the older one

Hi , whenever i editing the code, the new code just replace the older one. Like adding some new text in fornt of older text. The new text just vanished the older one and i need to write the older one again. Thanks

You may have hit the Insert key on your keyboard. This would cause the problem you are describing if you are simply typing in the new code. Another thing to check is that you haven't highlighted the code you are trying to edit before you begin typing. This would also cause you to loose what you have already written.
