ehco not working

I have saved the index file to a php extention. My title echo works but the footer one doesn't. I have rechek the code several times and don't know what I'm doing wrong.

i HAD SAME THING WITH THEM STARTING THE PROJECT I AM USING THE XAMPP HERE THE VIDEO ERROR WHICH THEY CANNOT READ MY FILES EVEN THOUGH THE XAMPP IS TURNING ON BOTH OF APACHE AND MYSQL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7L5bnteDmGY&feature=youtu.be

I wasn't able to get my xammp to work so I put it on my other laptop. However going via the local website worked. Thanks
