Error establishing a database connection

After I caught and follow up this lesson, I am not able to log on my live site and Browser prints "Error establishing a database connection" msg. Could anyone tell me checkelists to fix this problem? I changed the name of the database ,username for live sercer correct and added database Collate types. I checked these twice repeating these lessons. This is so desperate.

What hosting service are you using? What are you using for FTP? Are you accessing your database and making edits using PHPMyAdmin?

Also, have you made the required edits to the wp_config.php file for updating your server information and directed your home URL?

I am using Go daddy hosting service and FileZilla. Yes, I did same as video I made edits using phpMyadmin and also update my server information for database, username and WP_HOME,WP_SITEURL in wp-config.php in FTP. I also believe there is something wrong informationsat wp-config.php.But, really have no idea which information I have to check and try again.

If you are using GoDaddy, you will need to connect using SFTP. The process will also differ depending on if you are using a standard shared hosting plan or a Managed WordPress hosting plan. I think that your issue is with the encryption that GoDaddy uses to establish secure FTP. There should be a file that you will need to download and then install into Filezilla to establish the correct secure connection. Then, your SFTP should work properly. It is a bit of a headache for sure! Hopefully the link below will help you.

Thanks, Mark! Your kind and thoughtful answer was really helpful to fix my problem. I appreciate it. !

That's what its all about. I am glad you were able to get it figured out. (-; Document the problem and the solution so that you have a reference for it in the future. You never know, you might bump into it again if you ever work for a client or for a company.
