Node don't support ES6 modules yet. You have to use a transpiler like Babel to make it work. For example you can do it like this:

  1. npm install @babel/core @babel/cli @babel/preset-env @babel/node --save-dev in your console
  2. Now you create a new file in the root directory of your project with the name ".babelrc".
  3. Write this in the ".babelrc" file: { "presets": [ "@babel/preset-env" ] }
  4. Now you can us npx babel-node textUtilities.js in your console

Hope this helps!
