File, edit, view, help Panel unresponsive

Hi guys,

I have updated google chrome to its latest version on my Mac and PC and I am still experiencing this problem. I can right-click inside the grey side-bar and access the File menu but i cannot access edit, view etc across the top menu. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance :-)

Shane

I'm sorry you're having issues with the workspace UI.

Could it be that Chrome is having trouble with overlapping UI elements? I know in Firefox, the title of that project is quite long, and overlaps the menu items. If that is the case for you in Chrome, you could try renaming the workspace to something shorter like "First Website" instead of "How to Make a Website - Follow Along with Workspaces".

If that doesn't fix it, you could try using a different web browser to use workspaces.

If you're happy to use a stand alone text editor, Sublime Text has an indefinite free trial (although if you like it, you should support the developers and purchase a license if you can afford it). Then you can download the project files below the video in the Downloads tab and work from your editor.

If it looks like a bug, you can also use the Treehouse support page to report it.

Hi rydavim,

Thanks for getting back so quick!

I have tried renaming the workspace as you have advised above but unfortunately both Chrome and Firefox on Mac and PC don't allow me to edit it. Bare in mind I have updated other browsers in both Mac and PC.

I think I will report it as a bug, but in the meantime I think I'l use a text editor as you have recommended or possibly try another browser like Opera.

Thanks for your help

For anyone wondering how to fix this - I downloaded Opera and everything is working fine :-)

Thanks for your help rydavim! :-D

Glad it worked out. Hopefully in the future you'll be able to use whatever browser you choose. Happy coding!
