Filezilla not connecting to server

ok what hosting do you have? you need a username password and host ip or adress to connect to your files

I bought web hosting for students as instructed in the video. I have that installed. I cannot install filezilla. I feel like crying. I bought the treehouse subscription. I get the domain name and bought the webhosting for students. and now I cannot do the next step. I have been working on this for 2 days!!

i wish someone could just talk me through this installation on the phone. waiting for answers via email and then trying to figure out what you're talking about is diffficult.

ok yes i can try to help.. do you have google hangout? did you get any emails from the hostng when you registerd? i have not bought that hosting.

That is the hosting that the treehouse video on word press told me to buy. so that is what i bought. my problem has nothing to do with the hosting. the treehouse instructional video also told me to download filezilla-project.org downloader to load my files onto the hosting. i am not able to download the filezilla. filezilla is not the hosting program. i am not in a google hangout. if i can't get help doing this would it be possible to get my money back. i used to use lynda.com and i'd just go back to that. you don't seem familiar with the treehouse instrucitional videos and resources that i was instructed through the video to use.

You should have received a username and password for your hosting account. You should definitely reach out to them for support if you don't have the login information you need.

As for downloading Filezilla, you should be able to find a direct download here if you're on a Mac: http://download.cnet.com/FileZilla-Client/3000-2160_4-10826495.html

In future videos we are going to switch to using Cyberduck for FTP instead of FileZilla so you can try downloading that and using it: http://cyberduck.io/ Students have said they like it a little bit better than FileZilla.

Hi Zac, I'm also stuck in the 5 minute instalL. I've moved on to the HTML and CSS but would like to solve this problem to take the rest of the course in wordpress. I've installed cyberduck but I'm having trouble finding tutorials to upload a wordpress website. Do know any tutorials on this, or do you know when the treehouse vídeo is coming out? Many thanks

I regret buying a subscription to webhosting for students. I wish I hadn't even tried the Wordpress course. I've gotten no where with it but have a domain name connected to an account in web hosting for students that I am not able to use.

I Sandee, I couldn't install the filezilla but still you can make the website for the domain you bought. The only problema is that you can't update it when wordpress updates the template because you will lose part of the information. But the website can me made without filezilla. This is the website I made with wordpress http://sabinoseguros.com/ I think you should jump around and build the website, just don't update it until you find a server that works. That's what I'll do anyway. Cyberduck looks easier I just need to find some tutorials online. Best of luck
