For folks getting ° instead of just °, read this.

This is a character encoding issue. The TemplateConfig needs to have a couple changes:

In the templateResolver() method add this line:

templateResolver.setCharacterEncoding("UTF-8");

In the viewResolver() method add this line:

viewResolver.setCharacterEncoding("UTF-8");

This will get rid of that weird A character before degrees.
