For this part of the video do you need to pay the 99$ a year fee?

So I am planning on registering for the iOS developer program, but not until I have an app that I am ready to upload to the iOS Store(Since it cost 99$ to get one- which I think is ridiculouse since Google's is a one time 25$ fee. ) So in order to do what will do in this video, do we have to be registered already?

Also out of curiosity if you upload an app and then don't renew your membership, does the app get deleted?

You don't need iOS developer membership anymore if you only plan to test your app on your own device. So I guess you can wait till you really have an app to share on Appstore :)
